91 or 92 MX5Maybe the fuel pump has had it, The car will usually start even
if one spark plug lead has gone. Or it might be an ignition/computer fault.
I'm sure you'll get a lot more tips from others more knowledgeable than me.
Cheers

91 or 92 MX5Does it only happen sometimes, or is it never starting?
If its never... might be the timing belt broken?
Remove oil-cap, look on angle so you can see cam-shaft.
You should see the camshaft turn when you try to start it. If the camshaft
doesn't turn while the starter motor is going, then you have no timing belt.
warning- if the shaft does turn (ie. belt OK) some oil will get thrown around,
and possibly out the hole... don't wear your best clothes, and don't do it for
too long.
If that's not it, check the club's technical tips for how to make up a test
LED and read the error codes from the engine computer.
Fletch.

91 or 92 MX5If you're mechanically adept do the usual checks, spark, fuel
supply, cam belt, battery condition, after that it gets tricky. Was any work
done on the car before the problem arose?
If you belong to the AA, call them.
