State Highway 16 revenue collectors

Post by Mike Donovan » Mon Nov 04, 2002 6:05 pm

I was working pretty late a couple of weeks ago, and left work at aprox 12.30
A.M., I was tired and wanted to get home for bed so as I was coming up the
part where there is an overtaking lane ( heading for Old North Rd turnoff) I
guess I was doing about 110 Km/H, as with you Lou, there was a revenue
gatherer hidden , I don't have a detector unfortunatly, so got busted...the
young cop was apologetic as there was not another car on the road , it was a
clear fine night, I got a $300.00 fine and I'm not sure how many
points..maybe 45 I think. It amazes me that at this time out in the boonies
when there is no-one about and it's way past closing time what these guys are
doing. Keeping cosy in their car and doing nothing much at all. Ah well thats
my grizzle. I'st ticket I've had in maybe 15 years. OUCH it's expensive.
Cheers

Well, you can console yourself with the fact that he SAVED YOUR LIFE!
At least that's what TV propaganda tells us.

P S Also, we're no longer safe in a bunch of cars. IRD's new Stalker radars
have a fastest target capability to pick that out of a line of traffic, and
they are using it to target passing lanes, as I found out to my (small) cost
near New Plymouth, and to the cost of a driver passing me near Atiamuri.
