Just give me some notice.

We can handle up to about 20 people.

Re: On a lighter note...This is similar to a thread on Miata forum, try a 7.62
minigun, minimal recoil, 60000 rpm, could even set up remote training as in
choppers.

Re: On a lighter note...The trouble with chain guns is where do you put all
that damn ammo - even a minute @ 60000 rpm takes up a "leettle" bit of room!
Even with 5.56 rounds you would need a trailer and auto feeder for even the
smallest of opposition (echos, mgf, Z3 etc) sorry, i'll change that. MGF's
arn't worth wasting ammo on.

Re: On a lighter note...so what you're saying is I'd have to take the golf
clubs out of the boot as a minimum?

Good point - that9s why i9m relocating the spare...
And with lou9s idea of remote training - you9d save a lot of ammo, compared
with a lot of messy strafing.
I love this group - collaborating on projects like this...

Re: On a lighter note...True! Follow one for a while and it starts to
disintegrate spontaneously.
It reminds me of the classic British sports car bumper sticker, "The parts
falling off this car are of the highest quality.

fletch ... the torque on robins dyno is read at the wheels so is totally
irellevent to the torque produced at the flywheel. if you put 18 inch mags
on your car the torque would read lower than if you had 14s (all that leaver
theory that we learnt at lynfield college). the main thing is the curve and
any increase that you might gain from mods. robins dyno in my experience is
one of the most acurate ones that i have used. we (nzpc) dynoed ray williams
930 and it was within a couple of hp of the engine dyno and also a vericom
figure. every time i have had my car on his machine it has been within +-
1kw at the wheels and that is over a three year period.
anyway i just might see you there on sat as i problably will be taking the
pix :0)

Many many moons ago, in the dim dark distant past, I wrote an article for
the club magazine, where I visited Torque Performance (then in New Lynn),
and had my car dynoed.

My car , which at the time, had a Jackson Racing Header and cat-back
exhaust, and a Greddy foam cone-intake filter recorded 90 HP. At the same
time, we also measured Chic's car. His engine was obviously not running its
best, oil-smoke billowing out of it, and measured 81 HP.

US Dynojet dynos typically show a stock 1.6 as having 90 odd HP, and cars
with similar mods to my own as about 7 to 10 more... so considering that
Chics car was sick, the Torque Performance dyno probably reads about 5-10 HP
low.

Since that time, Chic's got a new engine, and I've re-built the one Chic
had, including shaving the head, port&polished, big cams, Link ECU...

Don't currently have a reading for it, but I hope to get one next weekend.
On Sat 3rd of Aug, NZ Performance Car mag are having a Dyno day, where you
can get your car on the rollers and a power print-out for $50 (half the
normal fee).

I'm expecting/hoping for 120+ HP.

Not sure why your dyno reading is so low? BTW, 52kw is 69HP, but I'm
guessing you were looking for more than 2 extra? :-)

I'd discuss it with the operator... Ultimately, as long as it gives
consistent readings, you can use it to see percentage improvements, but I'd
still see if they acknowledge that its calibrated differently, is known to
give low readings, or any other logical explanation. Also, what were the
torque figures?

For some reason, the Torque Performance dyno gives HP numbers that look
reasonable, but the torque figures are actually exactly double what is
considered the "normal" HP/Torque relationship. I will be discussing this
with Robin (the owner) at torque performance next weekend.

BTW, as far as I understand, every-one is welcome to come along and have a
go, or just watch... there'll probably be some impressive cars there, if
you're interested...

Fletch.
