I saw this video and had to have a little chuckle

pity we can't imbed videos but its only a short 24 second video of a headlamp modification (I assume its a modification)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... SjGuo3ji5A

apparently this is how its done...
If you keep pressing the pop-up button or keep turning the headlights on and off it'll eventually start doing it. Pretty funny. Probably not so good for the motors though haha

Trying to decide whether to paint the chrome surrounds in my headlights black. Currently:

How they'd look w/ the surrounds painted:

What do people think?

I say definitely do it, and while you have the lenses off you may as well retrofit some bi-xenon projectors in there too.
They're pretty cheap, easy to fit, and will give you awesome light output.

i just got a set to do my sp20

Are retro-fit kits like that legal? http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/get-y ... tml#modify seems to suggest not.

I imagine in practice as long as the beam pattern met requirements most wof places wouldn't bat an eye...

Pretty sure they are because you get a true cut off line that is absolutely flat. Did it to my mates bike and it made a massive difference for visibility at night

there is nothing I can see in the VIRM that says they shouldn't pass a wof as long as they are symmetrical and as close to the side as possible.

your wof guy would be a bit of a dick not to pass them, if he even notices them at all

Are they expensive? I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but I find the factory lights somewhat feeble.

A little expensive... but it's an uncommon model, NZ new, very low kms and pretty tidy looking.

I didn't think things like this still existed. That's pretty cool. Maybe 20 though, not 25.

Learning how to use this forum as a new boy...anyone got advise on rear shock replacement for NC 2006..rears soft and thumping down on dips on a country road, otherwise they don't appear stuffed?...kyb or bilstein? Dont wish to modify from standard, just get from bottoming out!

Cheers.

Hi All!

Coming to wonderful NZ (Queenstown) between 27th Dec and 4th Jan. Always been a dream of mine to drive through the NZ alps - don't suppose there's anyone on here keen to show me the ropes?

Cheers!
