Replacement Plastic Rear Window

Post by Evergreen » Thu Jan 25, 2018 1:07 pm

Hello,

My NA roadster needs a new rear window. Does anyone have recommendations for the best option? For example does it make sense to buy a new top from overseas rather than trying to replace just the window. The rest of the top seems to be in fair condition.

In case it makes a difference I'm based in Wellington.

If the rest of the top is in good condition it would be best check with an automotive upholsterer to see how much replacing the window would cost. It is a straight forward job for any good upholsterer. A good quality new one from overseas, eg Robbins, would cost at least NZ$500 landed and fitting it yourself is a major exercise (or cost if you have to get a professional to fit it).

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting the window replaced by Kohl Rod & Custom in Tawa. Cost about $190 and seems to be a good job, however I don’t have a good reference to compare it to.
