MX5 NB 1.8 1998

Post by michael-987 » Sat Feb 04, 2017 1:44 pm

Hi guys !

I bought a 1998 MX5 1.8 6 speed two months ago. Being use to light car, it's a pleasure to drive the MX5 :) In attachment a picture of the MX5 with my Subie WRX :)

The timing belt has to be changed, so I started removing everything to change it with the water pump. However I didn't think I'll need the tool to lock the crankshaft to remove the front crank screw... I tried a lot of things, but it's not coming off.

Does someone have the tool and could lend me this tool for the WE ? I live in Whangaparaoa but I can move around to get it.

Or is there a shop where I could buy it ?

Cheers your help !

Put a powerbar on the crank pulley
Pull the main EFI fuse
Turn the Key
Hey Presto!!!!
Crank nut is now loose
