intake water leak- new turbo build

Post by mr_pool_pool2000 » Mon Dec 29, 2014 12:45 pm

so my 1998 mx5 nb engine finally had a problem its leaking water from behind the intake manifold directly above the 2 sensors near the oil cooler :(

so when i get the intake off i will know for sure

leak slows greatly when block heats up

suspecting head gasket :(

my block also uses 1l of oil per 2 tanks of gas

was thinking new block and head built for turbo application
http://racingmazda.com/product/miata-block/
with the cp piston 9-1
stock head to start
order the fm 1999-00 FM turbo kit - no electronics with gt3071r
g4 plug and play ecu
deuthwerks 340l/hr fuel pump

things i have not planned yet
head gasket thickness
larger injectors that fit factory stuff
weather the stock o2 sensor is ok (4 wire atm i think)
aftermarket oil pump / more pressure?
anything else i may have missed engine wise?

Sounds extreme. Out of interest, what year car and what engine do you have?

Turbo kit suggestion suggests NB8A, engine suggests NB8C?

Stock O2 sensor is narrowband. You'll need to replace with a wideband, but when you're spending that much money on a turbo and built engine, getting one will be the least of your worries $$$-wise.

its a 1998 nb

bp4w engine i believe

the built block and turbo kit are long term goals

had thought about h20a swap from s2000 there is heaps on ebay include ecu and trans could be a more reliable alternative and turbo later
