Pit Crew needed Ruapuna Oct 4th...

Post by Ian » Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:53 pm

Hi Guys...
I will be running my MX5 in the 2nd round of the SIERDC series (1 hour race) on Sat Oct 4th at Ruapuna. A pit crew member(s) would be of great assistance. (I have passes for up to 2 helpers) I will also be testing on Friday...but can get by without a pit crew if unavailable.
Please PM me if interested.

Won't be in your vicinity Ian but best of luck with the race!

Let us know how you got on, what cars you are up against etc...

Thanks for the support.
Last Sat week it was 5 Porches and 2 Ferraris ...plus assorted BMWs etc in myendurance race...so we are trying to be serious. Have had a solitary response from the ChCh/Canterbury MX5 community...which is extremely disappointing.....though previous experience of MX5ers from the region suggests that sedate convoys to vinyards is about as exciting as they can stand!!!
Whatever 'blows your hair back' I suppose...

Yeah if you were in the upper half of the North Island I'd be keen to help out, our cruises aren't quite so sedate either up here.

Good luck Ian. If I wasn't racing this weekend it would be a good excuse to head South. Unfortunately it looks as if your weather might be a bit crappier than mine.

Ian,
Watch the weather.
Met have just issued a strong wind warning for inland canterbury, gale force NW tonight easing tomorrow and then true to form a SW change and temps for Friday down to 12 (not counting wind chill) with showers.
Saturday should be fine, but cold SW temp 11 degrees.

Got tyre warmers?

This would be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get a leg up and experience some Motorsport first hand.

If I was in chch I'd definitely come along to help/watch - I'm away in wellington this weekend though.

Could be keen for future events too though
