Alteeza lights
Hi all, Im a newbie, have just brought my daughter an NA 91 repainted in the later metallic grey colour for her first car.
Have noticed the brake lights aren't mall that bright so have replaced then red high stop with a clear and much brighter one as well as the front indicators.
BUT...
She wants to replace the tails lights and says something about 'alteeza' ones. After much googling I've worked out she wants chrome ones with maybe LEDs...
If looked at TM and eBay but can't find what she is exactly looking for. Seems you can get them for NB and NC but not that much for the NA
Anyone know of any reliable and price conscious suppler for these things??
Also, I once recall seeing a cup holder that replaces the ashtray...no think it was an Aussie site but haven't been able to find it since. Any help for that will be great appreciated by my 16 year old!!!!
Thanks in advance

I have some on the back of mine... instead of the chrome finish inside it has a carbon fibre style pattern on the inside around the lights. I also painted the outer rims of them in black to create a framing effect.
As with most things I get to make my car look more audaciously tacky, I got them from ebay. (this ebay link is to some black ones rather than the faux carbonfibre ones I have)

Thanks guys but she don't like those either. If any of you see a blonde 18yo driving around Chch in a Meteor Grey '91 with aftermarket alloys give her a wave.
She wants to personal use it a little so if you have any ideas, let me know! Personally I think a small low profile carbonnspoiler on it would look rather cool. My dad helped me into my first car so I'm doing the same and for her... Although my first car cost $700 and was a Viva. I think she she did pretty well for a first car!
So any further ideas for rear lights, boot spoiler and cool shit thankmwont bankrupt me??

Maybe check carbon miata for a spoiler. Once you start modifying the cars it's a very slippery slope
Is your daughters car auto or manual? If its manual I wouldn't recommend the cup holder, just looks like it'd get in the way when you're shifting.
If you look at the spot where the back of the centre console sits between the two seats, you can wedge drinks in there and it acts as a cup holder.
Sent you a PM re: some nicer tail lights

I got our cup holder from a guy who advertised in the mx5 club magazinne, but stopped some time ago. I think he brought a few in from the states and sold them to cover the cost of the one he wanted for himself.

My other MX5 Bluey came with a cup holder. It was homemade and was simply a piece of customwood cut to thsle size of the ashtray opening, painted black and a holesaw hole drilled into it to accomodate a can. I found it an annoying position for a drink and use the wedge in technique between passenger seat and rear wall as documented above. The drink sits snuggly and is out of sight but still EASY to access.
I have the same cup holder as Broomfish. Great while on the motorway, but the moment you need to change gear you start looking like your left hand is deformed.
Interesting rain rails (?) on MrGrey's hardtop to stop the flood on your legs when you open the door. Where did you get them?
