Rust

Post by EM93 » Mon Feb 03, 2014 3:57 pm

Hey!
So i discovered rust on my mx5 and got it looked at and quoted a minimum of $5000 to fix it all (i was fairly gobsmacked) went back to my wof place and they told me that they'd pass it again right now with the rust even tho the specialists say its unsafe..

Theres one patch which is definitely structural but theres also a seriously bad bit that we're in arguments over.
Does anyone have any experience with rust repairs or advice on it?
I personally think its unsafe and intend on parting the car out but i really have no idea!

from what i can see in that photo it is definitely non structural and i thinck your quote of $5000 for that repair is over the top.

NZLTA have just been and looked at it and given me a call, they think it needs to be fixed/never should of passed so the WOF place now is paying for all the rust repairs, theres was lots of other little bits of rust too!
