I missed this earlier pic since it was a text link, but that is some impressive air! What was the damage from that?

Awesome vids as usual too!

What size tyres/rims do you guys run front and rear for drifting? And what brand up front works best?? Cheers

I run 185-60-14 all round but it depends on gearing etc, as for tyres for steering high performance road tyres are my preference as they hook up instantly and are great in the rain.

I use AD07 or Direzza Z2s but anything similar is good depending on your size. 15s have better options and tend to be more accurate as the sidewalls smaller

Cheers for that. Aiming to run 14x6 on the back and hopefully find some 14x7 for the front. Could run a 15 on the front I suppose.

Been a bit slack in posting but heres a couple vids from late.

This was Taupo yesterday

And Hampton a couple weeks back
https://youtu.be/yEk7r5H0P5M

Not much has happened with the car as usual apart from the panels getting a little rougher and the rear bumper is pretty toast.

It amazes me how well the factory running gear has survived the past couple of years of abuse.

A fantastic day at Hampton on Sunday apart from crashing haha! Luckily we managed to straighten out the front enough that the wheels didn't rub, and even luckier that none of the running gear or even the alignment was affected. Not too sure whether to get a new shell or repair this one.. Good news was my new knuckles from Mintfab were absolutely awesome, so much easier to link drifts now with the extra lock now available.

Also good news is I won't have to renew my insurance, rego and warrant for a while now! :D

So its been a while since I've updated anything but I'll just keep it simple.

Got the head in with the new cams and ECU, all tuned 96Kw and 150nm at the fly which is pretty dam good!

So I had my first competition and first test day with the new engine setup. Stewy Bryant and Shane Van Gisbergen were competing too which made it more interesting. Managed to get used to it pretty quick and come away with second in NA and Turbo class!

The next day was just a fun day with more great drivers and some good tandems

Way cool, sideways in the wet and still on the black stuff! I'm impressed.

Cheers guys, seems to work really well. Going to have to replace front tyres and will try going back to the stiffer springs and put front swaybar in too

So got the ITBs and new head in, not much power difference in figures but peak power and torque have moved up in the rev range. Peak power is at nearly 8000 and torque is flat from about 5000-7000 before it slightly drops off.

Image

So took it to a drift day on friday and had lots of fun making heaps of Dooort noises everywhere.
Image

And heres a few of the clips I got, gearbox isnt the happiest at the moment but it fine for high speed. Just doesnt like low speed changes at high RPM like the 5 speed did.

So had my first crack at competition level over the weekend. D1NZ Pro sport which is the feeder series for D1NZ-Pro.

Drove the car 3 hours down to Tauranga and my prayers were answered as it was soaking wet! I got in a decent amount of practice dialing in the car for the conditions.

https://scontent-syd1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hp ... e=570E9BA2

Sadly qualifying was cancelled as it kept bucketing down and there were a few crashes because of the standing water.

I was only just linking the track nicely in the wet so I was a bit concerned about the dry. So we decided on 70PSI and I went out. Even with the short run up I was linking the track, not super well but enough to qualify in 14th place!

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 2c97e77bb9

I had wrecked my tyres in qualifying as I had been running them all day so I put on my daily Yokos with 80PSI in hoping the slightly smaller dia would help when following. I came up against 3rd seed Calvin Clark who knows how to drive.

On my lead run I lay down possibly my best run all day which left me with a huge grin! Sadly on the chase run the rear was a bit too slipper and I was feathering the throttle and shallowing angle to try keep up which ended up with me losing. But Im still exetremely happy with how it went!

https://scontent-syd1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hp ... e=573E0258

Sorry for all the links, pics wont show up in IMG code for some reason. Any ideas?

So next round is in Taupo which is another bit of a drive but its a track I have done so I should hopefully be a bit more comfortable.

Thanks to my mate Dave we have some outcar video and incar!

I have also made a page on facebook so I can try and get some sponsors because as I found out its quite expensive doing competition, if you could have a look that would be much appreciated.

Have you done any bottom end work? 8000 seems pretty high if it's a stock bottom end
