All bushes swapped in 1 weekend, have gone for a quick "test drive" around the block and she handled it sweet!

Big thanks to born_disturbed for helping me swap everything this weekend :D

She just needs a wash as she was polished and waxed before going into hibernation 6+ months ago

On a good day you'll find some nice cars and bikes in the basement below :D although it's summer so generally everyone takes them home during this period

Way To Go ANGREAL.... Double Overhead Spare Wheels.
The gravitational effect will give you more traction for sure. Should help with that extra 20HP

Hmm I guess I should be careful this weekend to not blow up the engine  this weekend should be exceptional though on a more serious note

Bought myself a cheap Chinese carbon fibre button for the horn which I should justify the weight savings by eating a pie

Brm you've just started down an exceptionally slippery slope. Next will be more power, bigger this, better that 8)

carbon fiber is carbon fiber and it doesn't really matter where it was made as long as the manufacturing process was to a reasonable standard of quality.

treat yourself and have a candy bar too :)

I say cheap because it cost 10 bucks delivered... Hopefully it's legit carbon threads based on the photo...

Do crooked stickers give more power?

Today I lost my car in the car park between a jazz and a civic... I think they need to make modern cars smaller rather than bigger. Something about sustainability when all I want is to find my car conveniently

^^ lol! i've only had mine for a month or so but this keeps happening in car parks. i look where i think i've parked it and go "oh sh*t, it's gone" thinking there's no way it's hiding entirely behind the mini or motorbike or whatever tiny vehicle i've parked next to and yet there it is tucked in behind.

From the ashes... What did you do to your roadster today?

Post by biff » Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:56 pm

I considered one of those whippy aerial things with the Day-Glo flags on top
the put on bikes.
Sure would make the girl easier to find at times, and solves the other
problem I've had :(
There is another red MX exactly the same as mine, even has a funky rear
spoiler, and they shop at the same supermarket, you can guess what's
happened on the odd occasion!

Heck I'm sure I parked further down the row than this????

Yep I sure did :(

Do you mind letting us ALL know what the cost of a paint job for a hardtop was? I purchased a nice black one for GRUVBB. I also have a Mariner Blue one stashed away for a fellow member who needs to get it colour matched. He has first option on it once I list it. After that his mate is second on the list before it goes offered to the public.
Your top looks mint. Black is great as it goes with most colours.

hard top painting cost

not at all - i cost $250 + gst.

One of the reasons for the variability of the quotes was different shops had different opinions on whether it was possible to just mask the glass/seals or whether they needed to be removed and whether that would be easy or hard depending on whether it was glued etc

Prob worth noting that they did a pretty good job of it, but not a great job - it's certainly not show quality paint - there's a tiny bit of orange-peel visible and the weather seal wasn't left in quite as good a condition as it went in with.

Can take some proper pics when it's sunny if it's helpful.

Thanks for that.. We usually get what we pay for. Unfortunately we can not tell the quality of a paint job till its applied. I did my own repaint for the Show And Shine recently. Saved a packet but need to do some touchups on the colour overlaps. At least every time i squirt paint on I am gaining experience. The guy at the paint wholesaler gave me some good pointers also.
I was a little embarrassed to take the Modified prize when displayed with other cars from MX5 Forumn and others....... Judges decision is final though and the car cleaning products sure come in handy..... I hereby acknowledge the quality of all other vehicles.

I just parked behind a land rover and between a Cherokee and a hilux. Don't think I'll be seeing my car again for a while as it's inevitable that I'm not going to find where I parked

On a completely unrelated note I found some expired Chinese Oreos for $1 a packet :-D
