Post by Mikkels » Sun Apr 14, 2013 7:09 pm

I have diff noise on my NC and I am wanting a good transmission shop in Auckland to take it to. Any ideas?

If you want someone on the shore, Nathan NRP 021723876, does mobile work too.
Not a specific transmission mechanic but a knows his stuff all round & will point you in the right direction if he doesn't. An honest guy, rare.
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I'd go to the shore if I had to but would prefer central location. Thanks for the info.

Problem solved. Tony from Steely Gears took the diff out and replaced the pinion bearings which had been killed by the spring from the left axle seal. The spring had inexplicably come off and wreaked havoc. Part of the spring was still lodged next to the bearing.

All good now and back on the road.

A freakish thing to have happened in 38k Kms
