Most of the Interior ripped out today a couple of stuborn rusty bolts but nothing a drill cant talk care of.
Test fitted the turbo and manifold I borrowed of 2LOW2C to check the bonnet height last week going to do the trick 10/10 have 20mm Clearance and still have power steering.
This turbo is only a Dummy until I receive my new one. The new one is slightly bigger.

Couple more goodies turned up on Friday including my Techno Toy Tuning manifold, the last of the Honda Coil for the Coil on plug conversion. Here a couple of photo of the ITB's I am still to Fabricate a Intake plenum.
NOTE: The Techno Toy Tunning manifold is pretty rough and will need alot of fine tuning and port matching to optimize performance.
Enjoy

As the Heated Debate continues over Rollbars etc... I thought I would ad my two cents on a little bit of work I have been doing over the last month. I have started work on a 6 point MSNZ Rollcage to go into my MX5 as an absolute safety factor. So here's a few photo's of progress so far.
Seat Belt towers Have been removed to make way for the Main hoop. ( I used the TIG welder to stitch the three plates together underneath before puting the reinforcement plate in.)
Main Hoop reinforcement plates welded in
Front footing box
Main Hoop welded in
Backstays
Diagonal Bar prior to Harness bar being welded in, Only just enough room to remove the OEM Fuel pump in and out
Harness Bar
Forward Lateral Bars
Many Thanks again to Paul (2LOW2C) for all his on going effort's and support! Much Appreciated!
Also Thanks to my continuing sponsor Pit Stop Westgate!

Cheers Dude! The Roof ones pretty simple (Straight Bar with two 12 Degrees bends in the right places). As for Door bars yet to be decided if we actually put any in as most people know MX5's are rather hard to get into if your tall. But I may still find away to fit some inSkilletKid wrote:Looking good man. Keep it up.
Keen to see how you do the rest of the roof and the door bars.

Ah so it follows the MX5 Cup style cage? NiceREDBEN wrote: Cheers Dude! The Roof ones pretty simple (Straight Bar with two 12 Degrees bends in the right places). Shame MSNZ doesn't allow gutted doors with no door cards to let you run the NASCAR style door bars (they fan out a bit to make it easier to get in).

Not Sure about the MX5 Cup Style cage (Haven't seen one) But I tried to get the cage to work best with the Hardtop and give as much room as possible. I too quite like the Flying Miata Door bar style they look wicked!!!SkilletKid wrote:Ah so it follows the MX5 Cup style cage? NiceREDBEN wrote: Cheers Dude! Just your description reminded me of them (although I don't think they fit regular hard tops very well - they gut them I think) is all =]REDBEN wrote: Not Sure about the MX5 Cup Style cage (Haven't seen one) But I tried to get the cage to work best with the Hardtop and give as much room as possible. Haha yea FM and BlackBirdFabworx have both done that style cage and I'm damn jealous we can't do the same here in NZ.

During one of my "nothing to do for a few hours let's read through LVVTA and MSNZ stuff" sessions at uni (so it's either not MSNZ legal or not legal for certing) - it is mentioned that doors must have their door cards/trim remaining. This stops any door bars (in particular the NASCAR style door bars that flare out and into where the guts of the door would be) from being installed.
I should probably try find the exact line now that I think about it. It also has something to do with no exposed sharp edges near potential passengers and the driver (again possibly giving another point towards not allowing fully gutted doors without frames to put trim on)

Ah ok, I guess not seeing a car that has done it here in NZ yet also made me think it couldn't be done. The SuperTourers have a flat hard plastic sheet for door trim that follows the contour of the original trim before being gutted, which is what I was basing my assumption off. Cheers for clearing that up.2low2c wrote:SkilletKid you can run nascar style door bars all sharp edges must be covered this can be done with rubber edgeing or you can make door cards out of fibreglass or ali that clear the bar .
Ben looking good keep it up
