My car doesn't have the shake anymore but it could be due to many things from various braces or the wheel alignment which did a lot for handling and stability of the car (original alignment I think was done by someone who probably had a few pints before they touched the car)

IIRC the best fix on miata.net for the "60 mph shimmy" is to balance the wheels with the rounding off - ie to the nearest gram rather than the usual nearest 5g.

I found my hardtop helped the most in removing the shimmy

the biggest fix for the shimmy is to fit a rear subframe brace to the lower a arm bolts. the raer subframe is like a huge tuning fork that resonates. thats why mazda fitted the factory subframe braces on the 1800's

I have not had the chance to drive the car with the FM brace yet. Decided to do a couple of other little jobs....

Where'd you get that pedal set fooes :)? Looks nice!

Was meant to post these a while ago but I've been on holiday mode, the racecar has had a much needed new manifold made (we cracked the old one just about every race meeting!) and a few other goodies.

Those wheels must be one of the very few sets of 6ULs in NZ surely?

Not so much what arrived for the roadster, rather that the whole roadster arrived.

Christmas has turned up for my MX5, Brand New Holset turbo thanks to Steve at Motor Sport Engineering! Just in time to fit it all in and make all the exhaust pipes for it.

First of my bodykit bits arrived this morning: New OEM rear bezels and OEM ducktail spoiler both from ebay:

Should make the tail lights look like this (that spoiler's a diff/wider one though):

skirts and front lip are on their way too now, so once it's all on it should end up a bit like:

Anyone had experience dealing with Ross from mx5mart.co.nz?

I ordered and paid for these sideskirts on the 19th of December. I got an email a week later saying he'd get them off and send them that week (now two weeks since that email), but nothing since.

I appreciate it's over the Christmas period, but I'm starting to be a bit unimpressed as the site is still being updated, new stuff on trademe listed etc. but no action on parts he has my money for despite reminders...

Phone him and it'll be sorted in no time. Some people are useless online, despite giving the appearance of being able to cope.
