Yeah I followed that one and I thought the buyer should have upped his payment to $3600 and got the hardtop.GRUVBB wrote:$2850 and I still have the Hardtop to onsell. was dollar reserve so punters dictated the price.ch4ng wrote:$1850? thats cheap
If he/she didnt want it, it's still worth $1k to onsell.

He exploited his funds already..... Bonus for me. I get another earn in the near future. Would have been awesome if bidding stopped just shy of the 3600 threshold where i would have included the hardtop.
He picked it up last night and drove back home. Got an email and he loves it. Reckons it drives 'Lovely' and quite grunty for a 1.6.
I have talked him into joining the forum and he might even make it for the summer cruise on sunday.
I listed monday with a sunday finish. Had about 2200 views and 183 watchers. 1 week means less tyrekicking questions. was quite exciting from 7.50 pm onwards extending to 8.15 befor bids stopped.

OH YEAH BABY!!!..... I have been watching MX5 auctions for some time now. Most of the cars that have been listed with an asking price have had multiple views but no bids. Even the cars only asking 2500 and 1999.Stevo wrote:$1 reserve = "Big Balls"
However ALL of the dollar reserve auctions get results. Even the cars that have needed panel beating, repaints, new brakes etc have steadily climbed well over 1500. Knowing this gave me confidence that this tidy car would sell to some lucky bidder. I only listed for 6 days as well.
This is convertable selling weather.
Luck for me my auction closed on a day following some of the best weather for some time. I was also serious about getting rid of some of my TOO MANY TOYS..... The boats are next to go!..... And ... I still got a Mint Hardtop to list.

a few days ago I had a front brace arrive and this morning I picked up some 205.55.15's (from the courier, trademe special) and this afternoon I got busy and fit them on the car. It's nice to finally have the rims out of my kitchen
I grabbed a cheap ebay front brace which arrived silver, so I gave it a red coat of paint and then drifted black paint over the top of it (similar to what I did on the mags)

moar cat? sure, her name is smudge, she is very very fat and as you can see by this photo, she likes to sit in front of a mirror to admire herself while she tongues her bum like a rubberneck....
as for moar low, I have the stock springs back in the front because I was having major clearance issues with the old 14's on, but now that these tyres give me more clearance, I am waiting on some spring compressors to arrive and will give them a test fit again (I figured I might as well buy some compressors for my toolbox even if they don't get used much)
@GRUVVBB .... including the postage, it was about $80 including the postage from the states.
