I have no idea what my spline nuts are but I'll keep them on until someone notices... Not that they ever will

The old nuts I had were duralumin and to be honest they were fine. I can understand them making them illegal simply because there are some gorilla handed munters who would over tighten them and break the integrity which is much harder to do with steel nuts.

its just a case of a few clueless knobs screwing it up for everyone.

its not about gorillas it's about manufacturers telling you they are mde of one thing but they are actually just plain aluminium. i was doing a set of wheels for a guy and we could'nt even torque the nuts to there recamended torque without them striping.[/quote]

True,I have been tempted to get new wanky wheel nuts myself off Trade Me,Some cool looking sets,But i know the RAYS i have are Genuine ,Came in from Japan on a RX8 a few years ago at work,Stuff from Japan is generally high end parts made to a standard, not to a price, and new RAYS wheel nuts are friggen expensive,
I'll stick with them.

Got this zoom fuel lid the other day from axel at nz car parts, was pretty shit when it turned up but gave it a half assed polish with 400 then 1000 grit sandpaper and it came up alright.

A steal at $50 ^^, it was on a crashed NA8 he bought from turners a week or two ago. Probably not zoom though as there are a few different variants of it.

Got back to my car yesterday and found this...

Elderly gentleman, large 4WD, reversinf out of a carpark. The thing was equipped with reversing camera, proximity beepers, and he still drove into me, wtf?

At least he's paying for a replacement door.

Tell him it disintegrated your original mirror as well and get some extra loot out of it. Also be thankfull it was not in Ak as most 4x4 drivers would drive off and escape into obscurity with the many others on our congested roads. Youdont have to vaccuum up heaps of glass either. That stuff is near on impossible to get every last piece.

well i FINALLY managed to pick up a USB/Serial cable that actually works! so i managed to get some data logs of my car to work out why its running super rich and flooding on start up. and the concensus is...........i have no freakin idea! data logs look normal in every way in terms of AFM volts and injector duty cycles, so it must be a weak ignition system. so its off to buy new leads/plugs and to power the coils from a new HD relay fed right off the alternator. hope fully that sorts it.

Congratulations Chris..... Make sure YOU change the ownership over so you dont get the tickets that may be following that car. You survived ticketing but they might not be so lucky.
