Not so much something arriving, but last week I got my first mx5 :D
Nz new, completely stock and with 220,000k's on the clock...
Only issues so far are a rip in the roof, occasional smoke on start up and a small swimming pool appeared in the drivers foot well after yesterdays torrential rain :(

I was going to post some pictures but it won't let me

I picked up some bumpstops today and the price was not bad, $42.55 for a pair (I grabbed 2 pairs). So that means that this sunday, 'Operation sump scraper' has a green light :)

New for roadster

Post by GRUVBB » Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:49 pm

I just purchased another roadster to keep the first one company..... Does this mean i have developed a compulsive shopping disorder or just enjoying having toys? it came with a new Haynes repair manual. That will come in handy for reference.

perhaps you could instead look at it as you purchased an over priced haynes manual and they threw in a good condition MX5?

grats on the purchase, it looks like a beauty!

The Haynes manual is very basic. For the NA you are better off with the "Enthusiasts Manual". There are 2 versions, one for the 1.6 and one for the 1.8. Not sure if there is a separate one for the NB.
TG Sports, classic roadster - modern technology. NA1800, 99 head, 11:1 +2mm Wiseco pistons, Link LEM, Alloy f/wheel, JR headers.

Well, Dodsons reckoned if I waited 4 weeks, they would have it to me by end of June/early July. Then it was end of July, then in August they advised that their entire order went missing then they promised to airfreight one, then the Mishimoto Warehouse moved, then etc etc etc...it arrived Wednesday! The race was last Saturday! Now I don't need it (for a while) as the car is possibly a writeoff!!!!!!

That sounds about right...I believe they have located the missing shipment, but they did not say where it is...possibly the other side of the world!
Hopefully the product will perform as good as it looks!!

Not trying to kick one whilst they are down, but if you end up not needing it at all I would probably buy it off you.

sideways into a gravel trap at 140ks will usually result in tears....30 laps into a 1 hr enduro, trying to avoid a Ferrari 458 ...which was no faster than me through the sweeper! Sorry, no pics....of the car and I have bruises where you don't want bruises!

This was the deal of the century - free.

Started cutting up my spare front bumper to make an airdam today. I figured I've got no money and a grinder so this is a good start. A sheet of ABS plastic will come vertically down from it with a hole cut for the radiator. Have the maths written down for what size it needs to be... The rear bumper still isn't cut. Anyone in Auckland knows today is not the day for powertools + outside.
