What do you mean a "Rich Mans Track"
You honestly think that
$1200 for a pitgarage
$400 for use of a power point (I'm not Kidding!)
$1500 hold on your creditcard if you get $80 worth of fuel
and having to pay per metre of grass you rip up, and total cost of any signwriting on the wall if you bounce off it......
Is excessive - then yes it's a rich man track
Oh ,,,, and of course $15,000 for membership and $300 each time to use it - but with limited days per year.
Got a feeling I should get out of the tuning business and make overpriced sub-standard pet food.
I wasn't overly impressed with Highlands anyway - I think Teretonga is a WAY more fun track -

my point being is that normal racing will STOP at taupo as early as the end of the month and The Taupo car club will be denied access and thier lease cancelled. all race meetings will stop and the taupo track will only be a track day toy circuit for "country club" types who fly in and fly out. thats a HUGE loss to nz motoring community

I dont like Pukekohe anymore since they did the revision, theres no run off where its needed(have 1x bent car because of this).evel wrote:This is why Pukekohe is awesome.
Just need to ditch the noise restraints!
The track days that ive been to dont run marshals or ambo's and rely purely on drivers telling the tow trucks that someones crashed.

I just did a play day at Hampton Downs on Sunday, the service they provide is excellent.
From the video I took at Hamptons I did about a 1.31, standard 1.8 with Racing Beat springs and Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres.

And this is why it puts people like me off to get the car going again to go motor racing.
Even if you do most of the work yourself, the cost to run the car is astronomical!!
It was only about 10 years ago when it would cost me $250 for a weekend (If nothing broke). That would be entry fees, race fuel, fuel for the tow vehicle, and change left over for lunch!

It looks like everyone is jumping on the moneymaking bandwagon. At the Tasman Revival meeting at the weekend, it was announced that Pukekohe would be putting up its rates from around $11,000 for the 2 days, to $23,000, and they would start charging drivers for pits as well.
At least at Hampton Downs there is somewhere to pitch the gazebo if you don't want to pay for pits. God knows where we can go at Puke since they took away the paddock area behind the pits!!!!!

I can't suggest any "legal" video editing software, but if you sail the high seas you'll find Adobe Premiere Pro is quite powerful for video editing albeit with a learning curve to it.Mad Kiwi wrote:Have uploaded the in car from the crash run with the external from skilful as well, unfortunately Movie Maker doesn't do picture in picture like I had planned. Dear Class Representatives, Competitors and Race Contacts.
The Taupo Motorsport Park (TMP) Shareholders meeting last night, voted against the resolution to sell to the interested buyer. So that’s great news for now for bookings and it’s business as usual at this stage at the Taupo Motorsport Park.

Nice work Furai. I have always enjoyed watching your racing vids, moreso than the drifting ones as I have raced and understand racing more than drifting.Furai wrote:Videos still uploading but got down to a 1:25.6 at Puke today. Hadnt been here in a while and learnt a couple things that dropped the times. Last time I had extra seat and passenger, worse tyres and no cage.
