one screw in the front wheel arch, one in the rear wheel arch and 3 screws underneath.... a surprisingly snug fit to be honest

i still gotta get my link and rewire the engine too

does anyone know anyone who has used an rx link or a s6 plugin link before? im just going by their previous accomplishments, never found anyone actually using an RX one yet.

So my mate had a little birthday drift bash, rock up to Meremere and theres a whole bunch of concrete barriers there! Should make for some good videos and wall scrapes!

First video is me hitting a puddle and managing to coat the whole car, half of me and most of my passenger in mud! :D

http://youtu.be/Y5lhybbWuq0

The aftermath!
Image

Got some good chasing in, Im hoping to enter competition so I was pushing myself pretty hard to make sure I was getting close and learning the skills I need for chasing.

This is the inside video which shows the new walls and some tandems with my mate in his R32.
http://youtu.be/knAZy36-ZxM

And the last video is from the outside of one of the chase runs, I was using third gear a lot more and it was realk hard on the car.

http://youtu.be/3DcLCYCkYpA

I was so hard on the car I managed to snap a caliper bolt, got towed home thinking I had blown the diff. Jumping to conclusions I replaced it and then found the caliper flopping around and a bit of a ring around the inside of my Wats

All fixed now and ready for full track this weekend!

oh wow, its like one of those magic eye pictures!
if you stare at the mud and move your head back and forth from the screen, eventually you can see an MX5!

Took mine full track drifting today at Hampton, only got one session before i had to pull into the pits with steam coming from under the bonnet.
The radiator haf developed a small crack in so i couldn't continue for the rest of the day.
Got some in car footage but it came out waay overexposed, pics to come if people post any

Teeny tiny video of Kierans car. Didn't get much footage since I only brought one half charged battery.

Keen to get more at Meremere, will probably chuck a vid up of some of the other cars.

MrGrey wrote:sigh .. spent a few hours mucking around with a friend trying to get the front springs out and the buggers did not want to budge (I had the shock loose but couldn't get the wishbone thingy free). After an hour and a half of swearing and cursing I put things on the back burner as I didn't want to break anything and we were running out of available time. In the meantime I got busy and put the front canards and sideskirts on and they look awesome! :) so at least some things turned out good. I am especially happy with how they have changed the profile to give it a slightly squarer shape, less jellybean'ish. Here are some pics, but bear in mind I need to give her a good clean and the bright afternoon sun meant I could only get close up shots (sun glare fubars my cheap android phone)

-=edit=- updated with better pics :)
LOVE those canards, where they from? I've never understood how they attach to bumper, do you have to pull bumper off? Car looks great, mines got carbon headlight covers and GV lip too, I like how the canards look with that combo!

the canards are from Carbon Miata and they screw through the bumper (I used 4x 6mm bolts on each) .... took all of about 10 mins :)

I like these ones because they don't protrude too much (like some I have seen) and square the nose up quite nicely.

On Saturday I got the car back with roll bar fabricated. Bit disappointed he didn't bother painting it, left the entire interior out and charged an extra $150 on what he quoted, but oh well:

That is pretty shit (To be blunt)

Let me know when you're ready to chuck the interior back together :)

TROLOL now has all of its interior back in.

The 5.5k redline is gone, I need some gaskets for my exhaust and it will be ready to be driven/raped again.

What exactly do you mean by 5.5k redline?? Do you mean it keeps cutting out there? As in 5.5k rev limit??? Or have you got red pen out and scribbled a new 'redline' on ya tachometer??

Braah I got da pen and i put da red line on da 5000 and it stopped.

No, I clicked my speedo over 180kph and for some reason I would get a rev cut at 5.5k

I just spent the past 45mins freeing up all the bolts on a rim only to discover that they are purely decorative...... sigh......
at least it will make things easier for painting I guess...

5500rpm is probably what you'd be doing in 5th at 180k's so the ecu would have decided to cut it there

I am tempted to leave them silver, but as I have plenty of time up my sleeves with this set (eg the 14's on my car atm have near new tyres on them so I don't have to hurry), I will do a test with 1 rim doing the cross section black and see what it looks like.

If it all goes to custard, I can always just strip the paint off with paint stripper and revert it to bare alloy again :)
