Remote central locking and steamy interior

Post by Mikkels » Tue Jan 13, 2004 9:00 pm

Well I now have the entire dash removed from my car and have dug out the
heat exchanger for the heater which is leaking as suspected. What a job
to get all that crap off the car. Who knows if it will ever go back
together with out rattles etc. I have also installed the actuators for
locking inside the doors of the car and will attempt to feed the wires
through the door rubbers and wire everything up while I am there. Any
tips on making this happen? All looking a bit daunting at the moment
but I'm sure it will come right.

I will get the heater repaired at the nearest radiator repair place.
Any suggestions - I'm in Remuera (now).

Use a length of heavy wire (coathanger), securely tape the motor wires to
this, then push it through the door grommet and pull the wires through with
it.

I don't know if they repair heaters but I got my radiator repaired at
Vercoe Radiators Ltd who are at 16 McColl St, Newmarket, Auckland (

The car will go faster after the repair due to it being lighter as there are
bound to be parts left over...A bonus?

Now for something off topic (hopefully nobody will be too upset!)

Try this. The result is quite interesting...

1) go to http://www.google.com
2) enter "miserable failure"
3) click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button (which gives you the top result
for that search)
4) check out the results...

Push a tube through the grommet then thread the wires through the tube.
Withdraw the tube afterwards.
