Bill,

<Snip
...is there anything prohibiting this forum or the MX5 club from
uniting to support initiatives to benefit MX5 owners other than offering
rallys, mystery drives, and advice on tires and mechanical repairs? >

As far as I'm concerned any initiative that may directly or indirectly
benefit members is valid.

On the same subject I notice that the 'Highway Patrol' premises at Pokeno
and at Ellerslie are ringfenced and gated like a Stalag.
Is this a tacit adnmission by the police that they are no longer able to
safeguard even their own property, or is this preparation for the inevitable
public backlash from the draconian traffic restrictions both current and
waiting to be introduced?

ahh no. sometimes they keep seized and impounded vehicles there, plus scene
of crime vehicles, and if they don't fence it, people may try to get them
out or tamper with them, destroying evidence. Most police stations has some
form of secure vehicle storage for that reason. Some have room for garages,
some have to fence & electronically secure an outside area.

Good conspiracy theory anyway :)
