Front Top Strut Brace

Post by Wayne » Sun Nov 30, 2003 9:27 pm

Greetings
Has anybody purchased a front top strut brace from Ross Campbell. Wanting to
know the standard of finish and is the top of strut bracket a full circle
type or is it a semi circle. Also is there any other suppliers of these
braces in NZ. I believe Repco can get them, but what is the quality, I don't
want to fit a home made looking unit - I could make one of those myself.(Not
that I'm suggesting that the ones Ross supplies is home made looking).

Regarding the Guy with the overheating problem, I suspect a thermostat or
pressure cap problem - surely the size of the radiator is not that 'close to
the wind' (excuse the pun) that a couple of lights in the grill area is
going to tip it over the edge - so to speak. Unless of course there 747
landing lights.

Front Top Strut Brace

I had a look at a couple when I was at Ross' place a month or two back, and
I am going to pick one up next time I pass.

He had two when I was there, both with semi-circular ends from memory. One
was chromed and the other painted. The standard of welding was good and
there was some shape in the sections, not just round tube. He had pictures
of them on www.mx5mart.co.nz

I think that, by their very nature, all of these things have a "non OEM"
look about them, but I would be happy with either of the ones I saw.
