re[2]: $25,000 question

He just needs to wait another 10 years or so. I used to work with a pommie chap who told me his parents in England bought an E-Type jag when they heard that production was about to stop. They drove it straight home, put it on blocks in the garage, covered everything up and coated metal parts with sewing machine oil, and left it there until a few years ago. They had hoped to sell it back to Jaguar, but I believe a private collector offered them a lot more money.

How much would it cost to restore your 1990 back to
new condition??? paint, suspension,
gearbox,interior... I'd bet it'd be more than the
asking price.

Quite likely, but a 7000km 1990 isn't new. Cars deteriorate even when unused.
I'd rather have a car that's done 5 to 10,000 km per year than one sat in a
garage for years.

What about the reconditioned ones available in Japan under the Renew
Scheme? They are as good as new for less than $25,000. -- Chic & Morven,
