Given the higher cost of mx5's in the UK and the costs involved shipping a car from The UK to NZ (can't be a cheap) it hardly seems like a very cost effective exercise. An old work colleague of mine did the reverse (took car with him when he went to the UK) but the discrepancy in vehicle prices worked in his favour. It would probably work out cheaper to sell the GlenEagles in the UK and buy a brand new mx5 in NZ.

I doubt if I could get a 96 MX-5 in NZ for less than $15k. Prices in the UK
have fallen dramatically since they allowed imports in making them very
similar to NZ prices. You can get a very clean fresh 91 import over here
for approx #3000 which is less than $9000 NZ.
Mine has lots of toys which I can't be arsed taking off. Once you've gone
forced induction, it's not easy to go back to stock (especially if you've
got rid of all the old oem bits
