Can someone decipher this for me please? I think the model codes are for the
Japanese Domestic Market, not UK.

All Japanese cars from '96 onward comply (I believe), as there are no more pre
96 imports...
I'd heard that ,94 onwards MX-5's comply, but that info suggests maybe thats
not true.
In any case, if you go look at your VIN number, I suspect you'll recognise one
of those codes immediately
NA = popup lights... NB = 1998/9+ with exposed lights
6 = 1.6 engine, 8 = 1.8 engine...
So you're finally coming back home then?

Only mx5s with the chassis no's after 402479 will comply.That is cars from
Jan 1996 on.It was going to be that all NA 1.8 cars would comply but then
Mazda took the easy way and went with nothing pre 1996 like other
manufacturers.You can still import a car from Japan that is over 20 years
old and get it complied.So I could bring in a 1978 datsun 120Y but not a
1995 Evo lancer.What would be safer I wonder?. Ross.
