=Sudden Acute Roadster Syndrome
It was bound to happen. I've just talked my sister into getting an MX5, and I have to admit that driving the lightly modified '90 she bought is at *least* as much fun as mine ('96 Special Edition with turbo) ... but in a different way. It's definitely more raw and elemental - nice to hear that blatty exhaust note again as you wind the engine out The ride feels more connected and less cushy too. Less grippy tyres have their advantages as well.
So now mine feels like a GT cruiser compared to her sprintmobile! On the plus side, I have another MX5 to modify now
So, have you enjoyed your Roadster today ??
cheers,
Jeff

Sudden Acute Roadster Syndrome... I like that. That's how I felt when I
first test drove my MX5. I just HAD own this car
Mmmmm raw and elemental... yep that would describe my '89 =) Althou my
exhaust is more growly than blatty... and I just love the *pop-snort* sound
it makes when I engine brake and the roar of it when I squeaze it close to
7000. Ahhhh
Connected is the word matey!

...You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and you
believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in
Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes...

Screaming Along the Road in Style...
I corresponded with a Japanese man briefly who had the same model MX as me,
and he wished me a 'Happy open life' in my roadster... sounds about right to
me. Even without speedy modifications there is a great deal of pleasure in
top down tunes loud cruising in a little car providing a great deal of
satisfaction per day per driving dollar...rock on the miata.

Well said Phil.
I feel quite bad about the top down bit.
My Nissan ute was stolen overnight from my workplace, 3 weeks ago. I got it
back luckily with minor damage. It is still in the panel beaters. But I have
had to use my MX for work and sin of sins I have had to put the hardtop on,
for obvious reasons. Prior to this I had never used it, always top down unless
heavy rain.
