Hi there
Can anyone tell me how long time I should calculate to remove the engine and
put a new one in.
And where can I rent a Engine lift here in Auckland.

It depends on your skill level I suppose.
I did mine (with Fletch and Larry) and it took us about 1 hour on the Friday night, then the whole of Saturday (12 hours)
I hired the engine lifter from a hire shop on Lincoln Road in Henderson, but most hire shops should have them.

I took 9 hrs including swapping over a supercharger and flywheel. Standard
engine should be a bit easier. Try hire centrs for the hoist.

My brother and a friend did this on a Morris Minor in 1974. It took them nine
months. I have copied the correspondence to them...

when would you consider rebuilding an engine ? and which is the best cheapest route - rebuild or buy a rebuilt one ?

I had the infamous crank nose problem. It worked out much cheaper to fit a 2nd
hand engine than any alternative. $750 in total as against $2000 for a new
crank bearings etc.
There is a small risk with 2nd hand stuff, but most dealers stand by it and,
as it turned out, the new engine was a honey. The higher compression alone
dropped my 5th gear runs by a second.
If yours is healthy there's no need or advantage to rebuild it bearing in mind
the boost you'll run.
