Polished alloy gas lids

Post by Biff » Wed Oct 06, 2004 10:40 pm

Hi all,
I have just (On the weekend) fitted one of Colin's polished alloy gas lids.
It looks great!!!
It took about 20 min, and all you will need to do the job is a Phillips screw
driver, a rat tail file and a razor blade or craft knife.
Oh yep add some masking tape or cellotape and a felt pen, so you can mark
where it all lines up before you stick it down.
The instructions are easy as, and it even has pictures for guys like me :)
I have some photo's but the cap is so shinny it reflect the light and anything
else, and looks a bit funny, but here it is. Oops I should have wiped the
water marks off, it had been raining.
As a rating I would give it the following
Fitting : 4/5 (A novice can do this!)
Directions : 5/5
Quality of product 4/5
Price: 4/5 (it would be 5/5 but that would mean it was free)
(The rest didn't get 5/5 because as an old teacher told me "I don't give 100%,
there is always room for improvement, whether you like it or not"!)
If your interested get in touch with Colin, he had 3-4 left in his bag when I
got mine, so be quick.
His email address is Krenford@paradise.net.nz
Cheers

Thanks Biff. Yeah they are quite shiny. Good polisher .. The first pictures I
took of the lid I kept getting a reflection of some ugly old guy and a camera in
it . :) Tried an angle shot and got a reflection of the garage ceiling.
I am happy you like the lid. If there is a demand I might set up for another
run.
