Colin

Pray tell, why do you always put your reply at the end of the email??? Don't
know about others out there, but I think it's a pain in the ass, this is an
email list not web based forum thread. No offence intended but I'd think you'd
have noticed how everyone else does it by now. The fact you wrote earlier
complaining that some people (anyone using Microsoft normal settings :-) use
HTML over plain text kind of indicates you're somewhat pedantic about such
protocols??? Perhaps I'm wrong here, but the fact everyone else puts the reply
at the start kind of dictates the norm...

Actually, everyone else doesn't. People with a few year's experience
taking part in email discussions tend to answer emails (especially
threaded discussions) like this.

IMO (and many others) it makes the conversation easier to read,
especially if they delete all the non-useful parts of the previous
conversation, and just leave one or two relevant sentences.

The trick is to agree to disagree - people will answer emails how they
like, and as with many things in the world, fortunately enough standards
are not always dictated by what the masses do.
PS: While I'm on my all omnipotent little taxi ride, can I point out

And very stylee tyres they are too :)

Please everybody, nothing to see here, move along. Gazza's just looking
forward to going back to work on Monday :)

Cheers

Hey Biff how are ya.

What's "SNAFU", "S*** Now (it's) All F***ed Up"??? Kind of like FUBAR :-)

Still waiting on a style bar from that guy in ChCh as he's making a custom one
for me... pretty excited about that. But takin' a while. And it's great they
do the Grand Prix now on TV, about time.

So I assume that "STFU" must mean "Shut The F*** Up" to which I reply "GFY"
"YPC" :-) I'll bet you get the first one but who can get the second... Sorry
to all others not involved... it's all just a bit of a giggle really!

Actually it's originally American Military (WWII) jargon... which stood
for the particularly military-style cynicism...

Situation
Normal,
All
F***ed
Up

The extension of this sentiment, FUBAR, had the same origins about a
generation later.

Then theres the "DILLIGAF" statement. Anyone who's been to K.B.W. know what
this is.

Ya just don't get it do ya, if anyone else out there thinks it's not dumb to
hide your reply at the end of the email and not at the start, please stand up
and be counted (excluding zorruno :-) At least Bill Gates got this email bit
correct.

Let me take a wild guess here... I'd guess you're a Linux man, and uncle Bill

I'm with zorruno - top-quoting has no appeal to me.

Personally, I think this list should have an ob-MX5 policy - ie.
every post must have obligatory MX5 content. If you can't think of
something to say about an MX5 in your post (along with whatever else
you wish to express on other topics) then you should wait until you
*do* have something MX5-related to say before you post.

At least then there'd be something worth reading along with the
drivel.

ob-MX5 from me:

The crank-nose repair we did on the weekend appears to have been
successful. Fletcher did most of the work & got very dirty (his
jeans were pretty greasy to start with though). Don Mikkelsen also
showed up & got his hands dirty (much appreciated, from both of
them).

The car has obviously more torque now - I hadn't realised how much it
had lost before. :-) Have had a couple of unintended wheelspins,
along with the intended ones.

I agree ken . But by the same token should one have to put up being slagged like
I was initially because some Limpet was upset as to where I posted replies ?

Anyway that's the end of it as far as I am concerned. He is in the sin bin.
