Lost Keys, ....Big Hassle???

Hi my First post, but I have been a daily lurker here, since getting me 1990 NA some months ago.
Today I lost my only set of keys, *sob*
I live in the sticks in deepest south Waikato, the car is unlocked. Can a locksmith make a key from say the ignition lock, or does one have to fit all new locks??
It's an import of course so I'm assuming Mazda would not be able to supply one.
Any ideas??

Commiserations ...

I would think that your local locksmith should be able to help out. I
bought my V Special & it only had the courtesy key for ignition. Took about
5 seconds to identify the correct key for full entry to boot etc. Not quite
the same, but shouldn't be too hard.
