I am insured by SIS which is currently up for renewal. Last 30 December
some dirt bag caused malicious damage to my MX5 (they poured brake fluid
over my entire car causing the paint to buckle and parts of the top to
"melt"). Of course since I don't know who the dirt bag was I expected my
no claims discount would be affected.
I just get my new policy. SIS has not reduced my discount by one segment
(55% to 45%) but by two segments (55% to 30%). In effect two increases
for just one incident!
Anyone have a similar experience with their insurance company? Is that
the industry norm? Anyone know how I can get in touch with "Fair Go"?
Regards
Bill

Thanks Adrian. I have given the GM of SIS until tomorrow to discuss this
matter, then it's off to Fair Go. I would still be interested in knowing
how other insurers handle this issue to determine if it is a
industry-wide or SIS self-serving and punitive practice.

Insurance Scam
Insurance ScamBill,
I would say it is industry wide to go back two steps for a claim. The good
news though is if you have more than one claim in year you do not step back
any further )
