tune up-Auckland

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Auckland (I live in Balmoral). I
asked my wife to take our 1990 MX5 to an AA service center to have it
tuned and they ended up talking her into a Silver Service, which
included amongst other things vacuuming and wiper fluid top up, but no
tuning.

cheers,

Trevor

City Garage in Marmion St (near the Uni) - they're a club sponsor

Rotary Power in Glenfield - free plug for Glenn - not a club sponsor, but still knowss his way around Mazdas...

Doesn't a tuneup just mean checking the timing and changing the plugs, filters, oil? Sounds like a DIY to me ...!

It's only a DIY if you have the tools, (I have) and the time, (I haven't) and
the necessary skills ( I last got into my Mini in about 1995 I think and have
touched nothing more modern since).

I've used Mark Patterson at Autotech Services in Neilson St Onehunga (6361154)
on all my personal and fleet cars for the last 10 years, with never a grumble
or complaint.

I can thoroughly recommend him and you can mention my name

Thanks Eric. Now I'm feeling inspired to buy a timing light and the
other essential mentioned in my MX5 manual and try it myself.

Regards,

Trevor
