Can anyone in Akld recommend someone who, based on past experience can
install my Koni shocks and do it at a reasonable price?

Paul Weir at Pneumatico on Beach Road (377-6648) did mine. Not sure how
much it cost 'cos he installed springs and did alignment at the same time -
I don't remember being outraged though. You do know that you have to cut
holes in your car, don't you? There's no going back from this mod :-)

Hi Andy

I was looking at an NB model recently in a car yard (the one without the
pop-up head lights) and I noticed that the two underbody chassis braces and
wind blocker had been removed. As far as I know these are standard items on
this generation of MX5 but the dealer professed to knowing nothing about their
whereabouts. Perhaps something that you might like to consider in your buying
project is a list of parts that should be on the model that you are interested
in. Some you could decide to do without, but I think that the three that were
missing on the car I was looking at would be considered as fairly important.

Hope this helps

Yes, that's why they are guaranteed for the life of your car -mine's a '91 :-)
Thanks for the recommendation.

Installation Recommendation NeededHi

We did the Koni installation ourselves a few years back. I don't recall
"cutting holes in the car", though, so I'm not sure what that means. We did
have to drill a 12mm hole in each of the bump stops to make them compatible.
As well as having to find a drill to take our 12mm drill bit, it was a bit
tricky to get them drilled without breaking them (we broke one of ours). At
the time on this list there were discussions as to whether the bump stops were
really necessary - you may like to look back at the archives on this matter.
