Hey all. Thanks for your reply!&s, and more questions if
I may.
Shocks!K.
Mine are pretty old, can anyone recommend a type (and place
to buy) some reasonable ones. My car is not worth the money
of Koni adjustables or anything like that.
Soft-top broken bracket!K
I noticed that the main roof pivot bolt (drivers side) where
the roof bracket fixes to the body just behind the door, has
sheared off. It!&s awkward to get to and looks like it
may even be a stud welded to part of the frame (hard to
see). It could even be brass (or just rusty : . Any
idea!&s on this??? Do I need to pull part of the roof
off??? Do I need to go to Al!&s upholstery? Most things
I can do myself if I know where to start.
Cheers
Gazza !'PO1SON!(

What Shocks??? And Broken Soft Top Bracket
Hi Gazza.
Just wondered if you could check the character set you are using. It appears
you have it set for charset="iso-8859-1". Would be nice to get rid of the
odd characters and punctuation!
As for shocks, I had a set of Konis installed just before Christmas last
year and have now done over 12,000km on them. The car had done 160,000km
when I had them installed. Am very happy with the improvement over what
would have been badly worn originals. Total cost was about $1250.00 incl
GST. This was supplied, fitted and complete alignment. Was it worth it for a
1992 V-spec in average condition? I think so as my car gets a lot of use and
I expect to have it for some time yet. There are cheaper alternatives, but I
decided to spend the extra for good adjustable ones as I can stiffen up the
settings as they wear so extending their life. I understand they can be
reconditioned by Koni to original specification at a very reasonable price
when they do finally reach their use by date.
Grant.
