Headlight alignment needed?

Post by SLYDIT » Fri Apr 02, 2004 4:27 pm

Aligning the headlights is actually useless in an mx
unless the driver and possibly passenger are in the
car.
The weight of the occupants tends to sit the back of
the car down , so when they align them empty they are
in fact causing them to be too high when being used on
the road, hence many mx's now seeming like they have
their high beams on, when infact they dont.
Yes the garage ripped you off.$25 is about 20 to 30
miutes of labour for a good garage. You can fit new headlight in that time.

"but let's face it, an uppydowny headlight is very likely to get out of alignment"
OK let me rephrase that. A peripatetic headlight is more likely to get out of
alignment than a fixed one.

Only if it's not opening fully to its stops, otherwise it's as stable as a
fixed system.
