Hey guys,

IM looking for a vinyl boot for the gear stick on my 1989 mx5.

I have been quoted:

$ 41.15 from John Andrew Mazda

$ 45.00 from Mazspare

To me these prices seam astronomical.

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these at a reasonable price(off a
company or a mx5 list member)?

Thanks very much

Ryan Orr

Sorry (esp. to Vivienne)!!! Just so I don't sound like an ^%$%^.

The below was a typo - I was supposed to type "I stand CORRECTED" - not
I stand correct (because I wasn't)

Thanks for all the input, I'm pleased to have generated this little
diversion. Having looked at the pictures of a real one, I recall that I
saw something that looks just like this, very recently, driving along
Auburn St in Takapuna, perhaps it was that one.

Take a look in the forsales in the back of the club mag, someone's doing them
in leather for $35, also the handbrake boot for the same price. Vince.

I havnt ever posted here, I signed up a few years back when I was
looking for a NA to buy - since then the list has just gone into a
seperate folder but I occasionally read it for mazda specific tips (i
ended up buying a FC3S turbo RX7, dont regret it one bit)

But I just have to say, the points below can be compared to an old mans
d*ck - they just cant be beat

:P

Also, to stay on topic - as a rotary owner im not unfamiliar with
keeping a hawk eye on fuel prices, and I think instead of blaming the
fuel companys (although yes, they are at fault too) we should perhaps
get our government to lift that bullsh*t petrol tax.

How does everyone deal with the current prices? I have resorted to
keeping the RX7 for cruising on friday and weekends - whilst using my
1986 MR2 for my daily driver and catching the bus where possible.
