Re Speeding up windows

Post by Sal » Sat Apr 08, 2006 2:06 pm

A while ago there was talk on how to speed up the windows. I took a copy and
see that I need to take the side of the door off. (How??) then remove window
and spray with CRC.

Can anyone tell me how to get the side of the door off safely on a 1991??

We are trying at the moment so quick help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

Hi Sal, the arm rest has 3 screws that need undoing, it will then just fall
off. The door open latch plastic behind it has one little screw, undo it and
then slid out the black plastic. Remove the speaker cover by just pulling it
gently, it is held on by plastic pop fasteners. The door cover is held on by
the same fasteners so just work your way around the edge slowly pulling the
door cover off and then lift it up to take completely off.

Good luck.

Use CRC silicone lubricant not the other CRC- attracts dust and eventually makes it worst.

Thanks

We got it off and used the right spray luckily! Hasn't made a lot of
difference! The window seems very tight in the frame which seems to be what
s slowing it down!

Same happened to me. I improved it a little but eventually the entire
mechanism had to be replaced. It felt like the handle was goingto
break off as I attempted to wind. The wheels and the cable simply
begin to bind with age.
