If your friend is that way inclined, the Val 1 is the way to go. However, if
your friend too drives a MX5, some info from another 'friend' tells me that
the laser has a hard time picking up on those as the only good reflective
surface on them is the number plate the MX5 being so flat and areodynamic...
Just for the record I don't have one and have never had a ticket
and I
don't drive like "Granny May" Nor like that of a "Sunday driver"

forced induction day ? it sounds like a military draft! Really though I have been slogging through the endless forums comparing turbo vs sc, have (for now) selected sc as I don't enjoy speeding so much as getting there in a hurry. I've never heard of anyone ticketed for reaching the speed limit TOO fast!I am focusing on the ubercharger(flyinmiata) or the BRP unit. Anyone out there use either? Did you or any one you could recommend install it? AlsoCan you let me know when/where FI day is? thanks a heap Richard at

Its been a fun ride - always interesting.
I have tried to contribute during my time here, but alas I am really sick of comments like the below. There have been too many instances, and it simply sucks the joy out of being part of this group.
For those who replied regarding the forced induction day - I will reply directly, as I think it will be a fun day.
Other than that - all the best and enjoy your cars.
Sorry zorruno, please remove my name from the list.

just a thought... I've noticed that 'in general' driving my MX5's, I do not NEED to speed. The sheer enjoyment of feeling every bump and minor defect in the road, as well as the open briskness is more satisfying than raw speed. I often find myself in the MX to be driving BELOW the limit!! What a treat and special pleasure WE alone share.

There seems to be a kiwi guy on the BRP forums - maybe try joining up
and asking him?
ie - go here, sign up, click on his name to see his profile (unless
he's here and would like to step up?)
