The new NC must be tricky to drive.....

Post by Matt & Sarah Avery » Fri Mar 03, 2006 9:00 pm

Was just perusing the latest Top Down mag (nice work Nigel & team) and
got to the advert on the second to last page. Its a lovely rear end
shot of the NC in a Mazda advert waffling on about the car of the year
award. What caught my eye was that although the car is turning slightly
to the right, the steering wheel is turned hard to the left. It must be
quite hard to drive if you have to turn the steering wheel the opposite
way to where you want to go!!! I think I'll just stick with my trusty
Ol' 89 NA - its much simpler to steer.

This may sound REALLY dodgy, but take a look in
Briscoes and check out the stainless bowls!!
If you got a 200mm deep dish bowl, you could drill out
the 70mm hole and have something welded on. It would
be much cheaper than trying to "spin" a stainless
shroud.
just a thought. :)

The new NC must be tricky to drive.....

Post by Registrar » Sat Mar 04, 2006 8:50 pm

Eric,

I am a new member to the MX5 club having just purchased my first MX5, a 1992 NA
BRG. I see from reading about the accident that you must live close to me, I
live on Beach Road, just up from Waiake Beach.
I travel into the city about 6,45am each day returning at about 5.15 from the
city.
I have a psare seat if I am able to be of assistance to you whilst your
treasure is being restored to its orginal glort.

Regards

Keith

Kieth, Thank you for your very kind offer.

We actually live in Whangaparaoa and Ann takes the car along East Coast Bays
Rd daily to get to work.

I was only driving it on Wednesday because I particularly wanted to use it
later in the day so dropped Ann off.

We are fairly well supplied with alternative vehicles, just none as nice to
drive as the 5.

But thanks again for the very kind thought

Eric
