Aero X from Saab (No MX5 Content)

Post by Simon Lord » Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:27 am

Aero X from Saab (No MX5 Content)Shades of the Stratos. Rather fun - but what
will GM do to it before it gets near the road? The last SAAB my brother owned
a couple of years ago needed a new engine after 6000 miles. And while an
aircraft canopy works upside down in an emergency because there's air
underneath it, I'm not so sure about rolling this thing.

One thing I do like about this idea (adopting my Edna Everage 'housewife'
persona for a moment) is the concept of a separate drawer under the hatch. A
few years ago, pot and pan drawers were the latest thing in kitchen design and
they turned out to be the most sensible new idea anyone has had for years. To
apply the same to a car is brilliant - let's have separate drawers for spare
wheels and tools, kid's emergency supplies and so on. How about a removable
drawer going into the boot space that can be accessed from the inside of the
car? The only thing I don't look forward to is the fact that large chunks of
the NZ media will undoubtedly translate 'drawer' to 'draw', illiterate oafs
that they are...

And no, drawers in an MX5 are not a good idea... or ash trays, or
cupholders...

Have sent my commiserations to Eric direct, in case anyone thinks I'm being
insensitive.
