Battery

Post by mikey » Sun Feb 12, 2006 9:43 am

Hi all,

I've just pulled the battery out and discovered it's lead acid. Can anyone
tell me if any of the generic automotive shops sell the dry cell battery, or
will I have to wait till monday for Mazda to open?

Also I think I remember that my first mx5 had a vented lead acid battery...
(could be wrong though)... are these readily available??

Apologies if this topic has already been hounded to death previously...

.

I believe you may be waiting till Monday!!
In the US there is an aftermarket option, but the original vented battery
(Panasonic if my memory serves me correctly) is the way to go...

Yup - Panasonic it is. Just replaced a non-standard battery on my car -
$145 or so for the original version at John Andrew in Great North Road.
Cheapest price I've seen for a while - club discount helps of course.
