Hello All,

Well i am pleased to say after a year of hard saving I am now the owner of a
1991 mazda MX5, And I just love to drive it fast with the roof down, I must
also say I was suprised at how smooth the auto change is.
I look forward to meeting you all at MX5 events

I wouldn't drive it too fast and advertise it on the list ... you are
likely to upset a few list members. :)

That aside, congratulations and the best of luck with enjoying what I
have personally found to be an economical and 'fun to drive' sports car

Hi all,

I have been away on business/pleasure, hope you all didn't miss me to much.
Esp you Colin,

The other day i got my car serviced and the guy out the front had the best
computer screen saver i have ever seen, it was a rolling album of very nice
MX5 pictures, I think there was even a picture of his own car amongst them(
i am sure his was the pink one).

Was wondering if anyone else out there had a collection of MX5
pictures???

bye for now

Testing has shown that driving with the windows down
is less efficient than driving with the top down and
widows up... Best to worst in order are..
Top up, windows up.
top down windows up.
top up , windows down.
top and windows down.

As for the air con... well i threw mine out a long
time ago as it isnt needed really.
expect between 5-10% worse economy with it on.

Hi, as I maintain this list I have decided to introduce a new list feature.
Sender: e-admin@mx5club.org.nz
Precedence: list
Reply-To: MX5List<mx5list@mx5club.org.nz>

People often ask me to 'Ban' other people from this list, and I don't
feel it is my duty to decide who should be banned. I have not banned,
moderated or restricted the posting of anyone thus far since I set this
list up in 1999 except for reasons of a technical nature (mail loops,
and problems with 'Out of office' messages)

However we are a community, and so I believe democracy should prevail.

This list has always been open to anyone with an interest in MX5s and
the discussion thereof, including whether or not they are a financial
member of the Mazda MX5 Club of New Zealand inc (who pay for this list
hosting).

People should loosely stick to the tips listed at:
http://www.mx5club.org.nz/emaillists/nzmx5list/tips/
and generally conduct themselves in a civilised manor.

If you as a list member think that someone is not doing the above, you
are welcome to request that they be 'banned' or restricted from posting.

To do so:
1. Send an email to e-admin@mx5club.org.nz
2. State the email address of the person you wish to be 'banned'
3. No reason for requesting the ban need be given.
4. If you an MX5 Club of NZ Financial Member for the current year
(2005-06) you get 2 votes. State your MRN, and full name.
5. If you are not a financial member, you get one vote.
6. 40 votes for one email address and a restriction will be implemented.
7. Vote count must be over a period of 1 month.

Furthermore:
1. No correspondence, or discussions will be further entered into.
2. A restricted person will not be contacted or told of their
restriction, and neither will on list discussions of voting be entertained.
3. No requests for 'details of people who have voted' will be
entertained except by members of the MX5 Club of NZ Committee, to make
this a fair, auditable process.

If you don't like this new feature then you have 3 options:
1. Unsubscribe. You can do that here:
http://www.mx5club.org.nz/emaillists/nzmx5list/
2. Set up your own MX5 discussion List.
3. Complain to the committee of the organisation that pays for this list
hosting - contact details here: http://www.mx5club.org.nz/committee/

You may vote any time from now. I'll be adding this text to the list
information details on the website at some stage in the future.

Dear zorruno

I think you new protocol; "Mein Internet List Furher" is fantastic! Of
course I might be forgiven for thinking its outcome will be synonymous
with the result of the 'religious right' re-electing GW Bush. That
aside, one must recognise that it tends to take a substantial amount of
time for such realities to be instilled in the 'general populous'
consciousness. But hey, who ever said in the 1700's the 'Godfather's of
Democracy' could be expected to foresee what might transpire 400 years
later . let alone in a little old remote British colony called New
Zealand, which was still trading guns for 'greenstone' in the mid 1800s.

That aside, permit me to remind this lists' members "Cannibalism" is
still amongst a handful of "communities" viewed as an acceptable
practice. Lol, lol, lol, lol

Yours faithfully
Bill
