Hi Everyone,
I bought a 1998 MX5 a couple of months ago and just recently the headlights won't work.
The sidelights turn on and the high beam lights work but not the headlights.
I have checked the fuses but they seem to be fine.
Please help me try and figure out whats wrong and how to fix it.
Thanks.

First question, by "headlights don't work" I presume you mean the low beams don't work.
If both low beams only don't work, does the high beam indicator on the dash come on when you select high beam?. If not, then probably both bulbs low beam filaments are probably blown. (The +12v for the indicator comes through the low beam filaments)
If the high beams only work when you operate the flash mode, and the high beam indicator comes on, then probably the switch is faulty.
Try www.madracki.com/miata/ for the wiring diagrams, select 1999, there are 32 pages. The ones you will need are pages 14 and 15.

I just had the same in my 98 on Monday, well almost the same, it was just 1 light that was playing up. The when I took the bulb out it looked fine (check the connections too) , but when I replaced it with a new bulb it fixed the problem.
I picked one up from Super Cheap for $9.50 so not a huge expense as something to try first.
