Changing double din to single din head unit

Post by raekil » Thu Oct 04, 2012 4:15 pm

Hi guys
Can anyone tell me what parts I need to change the double din in my MX5 to a new single din head unit?

Installations at audio places are through the roof expensive and my partner can easily do it for me - just need the correct pieces!

Single Din Head Unit with bracket
Single Din Pocket/Blanking plate
Wiring joiners etc

That's about it

Make sure to you've got a vehicle you can shoot down to the store to get bits you've forgotten, wire, joiners of w/e variety you choose to use.

Thanks guys! Couldn't work out if I needed to buy the $50 part sets they sell at the car shops or could get away with just the $10 pockets on Trade Me etc

Post a photo of your current set up.
There are differences between 89-93 and 94-96 stereo/Heater surrounds,Not sure what you have,Will make it easier to know what you need to do a clean and tidy set up.
