Park Light

Post by Donovan » Fri Sep 21, 2012 8:32 pm

Righto, been a little while since I asked a stupid question, so thought I better start filling my quota.

Doing a track day on Sunday, and as you have all most likely read, I have some issues with my power steering boiling over. In an effort to soft this out, have got a headlight cover with a vent on it, but was also going to remove the park light on one side.

Thing is, once I have removed it, I can't for the life of me figure out how to disconnect the plug so I don't have dangly bits floating around. I can see that one part of the wiring plug is clipped to the body, which I have assumed is the main loom part, and the other short run of cables which has the turn light and park light off it would just unclip straight out. I have tugged, tried lifting clips, pushing clips and the blasted thing won't come out. Surely the short part with the lights on it isn't the part clipped to the body.

Am I missing something simple that allows this just to unclip?

Yeah that's the one, wasn't sure whether I was suppose to press or pull, neither way worked very well, but most likely wasn't pushing hard enough.

They are a bugger for not coming apart... i have cursed a few times & then you try again & they pull apart! You gotta make the tab click when pressed.

Well three of us tried to get the damn thing out, but the cable wouldn't budge, no matter how much we swore at it.

It looks like the cable that should come out, is attached to the body, and it just wasn't budging.

ended up taking the lights out, and shoving through a hole and taping it to the side. Looks like it rattled around a bit, as plastic clip on the park light attachment must of broke, as now it won't stay in the lense

Put a "u" at the end of all the words? Worked for beer when I was in Japan but that's also one of the few Japanese words I know  didn't work for food-u so I ended up very drunk at restaurants...

They all seem to break....i used silicon adhesive & taped it to the lense untill it set....works fine.
