TOYO T1R BEING DISCONTINUED!
just heard through the grapevine that the Toyo T1R is being discontinued for all sizes under 17"
Thats bad for us as the 15" and 16" will no longer be available.
Toyo also have not made any sort of comparible replacement performance tyre for the 15 and 16 inch sizes....
BOOOOOOOOO toyo! you suck!
so if you think you will need some tyres in the nextyear maybe get in early and get the last remaing stock before you are forced to buy NANA tyres.

after having the toyos I would never go back to a normal all season tyre which is what most tyres that are sold in NZ are..looks like we may have to go to Falkens or (heaven forbid) yokohamas...although the yokos are pretty much unknown and probably twice the price of the Toyos

I am gong to try a set of Nitto's on my Sti to replace the Toyo R888 and try them out, so they could be a possible thing to look at?

Problem is getting hold of them, I have had a set on order for about 1 month now. From what I have read a number of guys in the states have been swapping over their Bridgestones on their BMW's and Corvettes to these. Don't know if anyone else out there has tried them yet.

i agree..they arent really a heavy car tyre. they have soft sidewalls which makes large cars soggy around corners...
R888's etc are really only a road lega race tyre compared to a "summer road tyre" like the T1R's are....now there is very little in that category for us at a reasonable price/performance standing..

TOYO T1R BEING DISCONTINUED!
I just replaced the OEM Michelins on my 2006 NC with RE001s. I'm not a
particularly fast driver but do enjoy the windy hills around here. I can't
comment on the grip in the wet as I haven't driven in the wet with them but
the dry performance is much better than I probably will require!
What is immediately noticeable benefit is the better ride quality and much
lower noise level, especially on coarse chip.
After thinking about what to buy, I went for the RE001s as the dealer I use
had 6 in stock at the time.

I LOVE my RE001s. If I could marry them, I would. Low noise, stupendous
amounts of grip wet and dry and reasonably priced.
