Best place to source shocks at a good price

Post by Mikkels » Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:30 pm

Hi All

The inevitable has happened and the car has failed a warrant on a leaky front shock. 200,000 k has done it. I want some new KYB shocks and looking for advice on best place to source a full set.

Cheers

New KYB shocks are in

Post by Mikkels » Sun Jun 05, 2011 8:53 pm

Got them from Stocks and did the job Saturday and half of Sunday. I replaced the boots over the upper A arm ball joints. They were both split but the joints still had grease in them and seem OK. Meant I had to remove the upper A arm to do the job but this went smoothly. Fitted the new ones using a 30 mm socket and a vice to gently squeeze them into place. I used the existing bump stops which were fine even though the rubber gaiter part was totally trashed. The drive is softer than stock as far as I can tell but is much much better in terms of harshness and bump control. Need a long drive to see how it all ends up in my head.

Thanks for the help and advice. New upgraded brakes and shocks makes things a lot better all round.
