NC tyre choice. RE003's?

Post by Ralph66 » Wed Oct 14, 2015 8:45 pm

I know this has probably been discussed before, however, I have recently acquired a 2005 NC. Fitted with 16" rims. Tyres are nearly done. Presently has RE11's fitted. A very good tyre I am told.
Looking at replacing with maybe RE003's or MY02's.

I had MY02's fitted to my NB. Stuck to the road nicely.

Does anybody have them fitted to a NC? Thoughts?
Or, are RE003's a superior tyre.

I am only street cruising with my young 50+ wife!

I have purchased 17" rims.
Now looking to re tyre the car.

Worried about road noise.

What are you running?

Any thought, recommendation appreciated.
Cheers
Ralph

I'd get the RE003's - the price difference isn't that much last time I got a quote and they're a better tyre. Won't be RE11 good but will be noticeably better than the MY02's.

Bridgestone regularly do a buy 3 get one free deal too which is probably worth waiting for.

Would recommend the Re003 if you are 'keen' driver, but if not, the MY would be fine (more a touring tyre than a sports tyre). Horses for courses really, there isn't too much point in spending extra $$ on sports tyres if you aren't going to drive them hard.

Car is now fitted with RE003's. I can highly recommend these Tyres.
I got them from Firestone Onehunga. Top team to deal with. Buy 3, get one free....nice deal.
