Desperate Cry for Attention

Post by Donovan » Tue Oct 21, 2014 4:35 pm

Right, now that I have got your attention, I am looking for a pair of 15x8 wheels.

It turns out that I have completely cocked things up, and brought in a pair of 16x9 wheels for running Drag tyres on them for the Night Wars, only to find that the tyres are at least 6 weeks away from arriving in the country, and that they are a friggin huge 28" rolling diamater.

Cardwells apparently have 15" tyres in stock at the mo, but I only have 16 and 17" rims.

Even the 15" tyres have a rolling diameter of 26", which I think will just (and I mean just) fit in the rear.

Thanks, but 15x9 is going to be too big, as far as I can work out with my febble little brain, the tyres running on those rims would be about the equivilant of a 285 tyre, so might have a bit of problem fitting in the guard. The 15x8 tyre is about the same as a 255, so doable.

Does that include the growth of the tire when you go down the strip...assuming they are proper drag tyres?

I guess so, I am just going off the Hoosier catalogue and their sizing.

They are the Quick Time Pro D.O.T tyres, item number 17415.

Here is the other little problem the Night Speed Drag wars say that can only run a D.O.T approved street legal drag tyres, and doubht you would be allowed on the road with these, but since the track manager runs them on his Falcon at the event, I am guessing they would have a hard job kicking me out for it.
